This is a can’t miss, two hour behind-the-scenes experience for burgeoning caffeine lovers! Go Behind the Counter for a hands-on tutorial in bean grinding, pouring, and beverage presentation. The Café owner will take you from start to finish in the making of the perfect latte, a pour-over coffee, and a delicious fruit smoothie. A group activity will be planned, and then each Middle Schooler will rotate one at a time, to work the espresso machine. Cari Rotoli of the Kingston Café is offering lucky NSM Middle Schoolers this once in a lifetime barista training crash course. The event will include a live demonstration and opportunity for Q&A with a representative from award-winning Equator Coffees. Think of this as an opportunity to pad your childs resume for that afterschool job they’ll need in a few years! Date is Saturday, June 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kingston Cafe.

Today the Brewery produces over 10,000 barrels a year and is distributed both domestically and internationally. Over the course of the afternoon the Brewery owner will introduce both beer neophytes and beer geeks to their amazing line of craft beer. Since its establishment in 2001, DCBC beers have won over 35 awards. The Brewery owner promises each participant will walk away with at least a couple bottles of beer! Date is Sunday, June 3, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Now is your chance with this hands-on origami class led by Megan Wong, Naia Hsieh and Sarah Klein. Class limited to 15 children and will be held on Saturday, June 16 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:30pm at the home of Sam and Grace Wong in San Mateo. This is a beginning class for children grade 1-5. Light snacks will be provided.

This is an event not to be missed as we say goodbye to summer and hello to the 2018-2019 school year. At least one adult for every two children please. Date is Sunday, August 26 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
